I have contacted the city in the past as well and was told the same thing. These critters dig under your steps and are a pain to remove.

I live in temple and I have seen three skunks so far this year and I have never seen them before in my life and I am 30 with 2 small boys 1 with autism and I cannot afford to pay to have them removed the city needs to do something this is ridiculous

I live in Winston Heights/Mountview and we have skunks living under a shed in someones yard. They seem unwilling to do anything about these as they do not want them killed. They are breeding and we now have skunks of all sizes wandering around the streets and yards. This leads to them spreading throughout the neighbourhood and becomes a bigger problem. The smell is so bad that you cannot leave your windows open at night. One sprayed late yesterday morning and because I had my windows open, it took over an hour to get the smell out of my house. Skunks are not like rabbits or squirrels, they affect our quality of life. Many people do not go out after dark anymore and make sure their animals are inside. The city has stated that we are entitled to live in safe environments and communities yet will not do anything about an animal that has been known to be a carrier of rabies. If I had a chicken in my yard you can bet the animal bylaw people would be here faster than I could blink. If a dog is running loose down the road, we are supposed to call the 'police', not animal bylaw. Which would you rather have, a dog running down the street, a chicken or a skunk in your yard? I don't want to see them killed but if this keeps up, people will start to put out poison and then we will have a bunch of dead animals around and not just skunks. Animal bylaw says the neighbours should pitch in and pay for traps to be put up all over. Does animal bylaw only deal with 'easy' issues like dogs barking or fining people? The rest is left up to the taxpayers to deal with. Why are we paying for this department?

We've got a skunk at our place, somewhere,at McKight and Centre. Every night our bedroom get a nose full of skunk. Hard to sleep some nights. Tired of it. Will call a removal company if the landlord doesn't deal with it soon.

we live in Falconridge and we are having a terrible time with the skunks. This morning I let my little dog out at 6am and bang the skunk was on our deck. Sprayed him and came towards me. I got our dog inside quickly but now am dealing with our house covered in that horrible smell. This is the second time our dog has been sprayed. These skunks have almost got me a few times on our front porch. Why is the city not doing anything about this..absolutely rediculous@!

Every day we see a skunk in our neighbourhood. I am sure that there are more then one family of skunks living around. Two have been run over this week.
