David S Downes United States, Jacksonville I find the removal of Chairman Patterson a disgrace to the Republican Party, the SJC REC and the RPOF. His removal is purely a political, aimed at protecting County Commissioners, aligned with developers, seeking to maintain control over St Johns County residential development. Blake Patterson must be reinstated as Chairman of the SJC REC.

I would like to see him back.

What happened to Dr. Paterson is a tragedy of the highest degree and an assault on the history, culture and respect on the integrity and dedication of the citizens of St. Johns County. It is a shame and reflects poorly on the leadership decision making at the highest level of the FL GOP. Once the FL GOP Chair realizes the faulty decision making process he will reverse his decision. That is real Truth, Justice and the American Way!

Chairman Patterson was doing an excellent job. He raised money, established committees, enabled conservative events, and kept order as much as possible in the face of occasional political disagreement and disruption. Blake stepped up when we needed him most. There are no others willing to take on such an enormous responsibility, in this much needed time. Removing Chairman Patterson is a step in the wrong direction. He should be fully reinstated immediately.

I fully agree. The RPOF has shown a pattern of attempting to micromanage RECs statewide. This is just another example of dictatorial anti grassroots behavior. This calls into question if they believe in self governance!!

Removal of SJC REC Chairman by RPOF based on false accusations by corrupt people is from the Democrat playbook. You are all about money and not real Constitutional conservatives..

As Co-Chair of the Grassroots committee. We started a volunteer signup, because voters did not like what was happening in St. John’s county. However, they did not know what to do or how to do anything. We have as many volunteers as member. However, many volunteers have become member and were working to elect conservative Republican Candidates. The Grassroots committee is light years ahead of most REC’s with knowledge and implication of WebElect. Charlie Williams

SJC REC is a private organization. The majority of the private organization determines its leadership, membership, and agenda, not the State. The US Constitution is the governing document and cannot be overruled by State imposed mandates.

Blake Patterson has been a very fair and transparent leader. At every meeting he had to deal with a group of very organized dissenters who worked to make each meeting as chaotic and disjointed as possible. Nevertheless Chairman Patterson did his best to move the agenda of the REC forward. Committees were formed and charged with various missions and much was accomplished despite the best efforts of the dissenters. It is clear that there is outside support from a group with a vested interest in having their own candidates in leadership roles. The RPOF is acting like the Biden administration by trying to remove the duly elected chairperson. This midnight coup d'etat is shameful and it shines a bright light on the corruption going on in our own party. It was my most sincere hope that this year, of all years, we could somehow unify so we don't lose our country. What a disgrace.....

I am in 100% agreement with this letter. I moved to St Augustine and began working with the REC in October/November 2023. I was disgusted with the disturbances being caused by some members of the REC while greatly impressed with Dr Blake Paterson's ability to prevent complete disruption of the meetings. When I attended last month's meeting and found that he had been replaced, I walked out of the meeting as I saw James Parham was now completely supporting the wrong values. Values that I believe the Republican party should be supporting! I have been a monetary & project volunteer since joining but if this man (James Parham) and his group continue to be the leaders, I will quit the REC because I do not want to work with the group of people who now appear to be in control.

We, the Membership, are outraged that the RPOF has overreached its authority as it relates to our REC.

Numerous disruptions from a group that did not want Blake to perform his duties as chairman. This prevented a productive meeting at a time where the party must come together. There is so much that must be accomplished to take back this country.

A duly elected chair is removed by the STATE, overriding the votes of the county's committee men and women. Do our votes not count HERE anymore either? In fact, the one-sided, biased, out-of-context targeting of Chairman Paterson is what we are used to seeing Democrats do. Is the RFOP really stooping this low? You give a black-eye to our county, our party and those who have worked so hard to re-establish the shambles Chairman Paterson inherited. Strangely enough, many of those who have been screaming the loudest were also screaming under the previous Chairman. They joined together only in their mutual hatred of one man. They did not like the results of our election. Again, this mirrors the DC swamp. Is this the Tallahassee version of lawfare?
