Simon's law is a must! We left CA to go to omaha for a life saving surgery for my daughter. It is true, doctors can deny to help your child. It must change.

This is so important, especially when all doctors tell you is to terminate and your child is “not compatible with life.” It is not their call to make. It’s a parents right to advocate for their child, who cannot speak for themselves and deserve a chance at life, love and happiness.

My niece has trisomy 18. My sister has to fight for the hospital to treat her and not let her die. Unfortunately the hospital wouldn’t. The good news is she was transferred to a hospital willing to care for her. She is doing amazing. She is alive at 5 months old.

As a former EMT I object to this DNR and situations which may present themselves as " futile" or hopeless .. I have never heard of this in South Carolina either. No way
