Parents rights are taken away without their knowledge. A doctor should not have the right to decide if DNR is the right way to go. These babies should have the same rights that a healthy baby has. It's devastating to the parents...and then they are burdened with having to search for a doctor to get help and hope for their child. This devastating deasise is in need of more research.

Because my Son has Trisomy 13, and we WERE able to make our own choices for him, he was given the care Simon was refused and my son is now a thriving almost 18 month old, I wonder where Simon could be today if he were only given the proper care, and if his parents were able to make the decisions.... they had the same battle as us but a different medical team with different heartless methods, I can never imagine what they went through, but I know soooo many other parents out there who are fighting this same battle, all around the world.

I believe EVERY CHILD deserves a chance at life, regardless of their sickness. I have a little angel that had trisomy 18 and from the start I told my doctors I wanted everything possible done for him. But unfortunately he grew his wings at 27 weeks gestation. BUT EVERY CHILDS LIFE COUNTS

My child had trisomy 18 in 2000, I was also told incompatable with life, if she was to be borne living no medical intervention at all but keep her warm. If she lived long enough they might would feed her. Who are they to make these decisions
