SimCity 5 is one of the best city-building simulation games.
Users are not always at home when playing the game and therefore, it's not always possible for them to have an internet connection.
Also, why pay for a physical disk of the installable game if you cannot save data on your own computer
If the consumers are also installing the game on their computer, why would they have to be dependent upon the Maxis/EA servers to access a program on their computer?
Some people have jobs that deploy them to islands where you would be considered lucky to have an internet connection.
Also, everyone doesn't want their city to be manipulated by outside sources without their consent. Playing games is enough a waist of time, let alone when your time spent working on a city could be reversed by someone else.
The feedback regarding the limitations of a mandatory connection remains consistent and clear. I am currently organizing the various accounts of restricted access to present these concerns directly to the studio.

The response to this campaign indicates a widespread desire for autonomy over our own software. It is clear that the current requirement for a persistent connection does not align with the needs of the player community.

Gave up on this game months ago because of the server issues. Should be able to run it locally on my own rig.
