I have walked along many of these tracks as day walks and I would like to do so again in the future.

These tracks are a favourite of mine and my friends for running and walking. They provide an amazing place to emerse yourself in nature so close to the city.

The DCC should be enablers of trail use rather than introducing a pointless, bureaucratic permit system that will disincentivise trail use. Why is DCC doing this?

Ridiculous to require a permit to access local terrain.

These are some of my favourite trails for running in Dunedin, and they provide such an important boost to my physical and mental health. I can't see how (any) advantage of restricting their access will outweigh the many intangible benefits they provide

The Council is of the people for the people. Everything it owns we own. Therefore they should not be stopping ratepayers for accessing "public" land.

This is one of the unique value propositions about living and visiting Dunedin, adding friction to doing it insane

Classic DCC move. You lot should be making these areas easier for the public to access not harder!

Use of trails for recreational walks and runs.

The proposed bylaw appears abritrary in the proposed restrictions with no reasoning provided for restricting runner and walker access through these important recreational track networks on public land.

It is totally impractical to introduce a permit system for day walkers who make impromptu decisions to go out depending on the weather condition

Keep these areas open to enhance the wellbeing of all in this area. It’s ridiculous to restrict access.

My parents took me up these trails. I could see the whole world from the top and even climbed the rope all on my own. We can walk all the way to Jubilee Hut and stay the night. We say hello to everyone out there, everyone is happy. One day I will be able to run 3 Peaks like my mum

I am amazed at the popularity of the 3 Peaks Race and think it is important to keep the tracks open for hill runners. Dunedin has a legacy of producing great cross country runners.
