Keep our Silverstream trails accessible

Please don’t close our access to the trails - they are a huge asset to Dunedin residents

I’m shocked at this proposal!!

Utter stupidity. Shame on the council.

Which bright spark thought this access control was a good idea. These trails belong to the public and are respected as such. How does use of these hill trails adversely affect our water catchment?! Hasn’t been an issue before so why now. Are they actually saying the treatment plant is not good enough? Keep our trails open!!!

Free access has to be preserved, not a Council money-making scheme.

I am in support of against these regulations by Council to be voided, our tracks should be open for all to use

Access to these tracks is important to, so people are able to run or go for day walks.

This a gem of Dunedin and restriction is totally unnecessary. Please reconsider.

We are lucky to have this accessible to the general public here in Dunedin and need to ensure this is kept to attract fellow hikers, travellers and non Dunedin locals

Don’t make our beautiful scenery inaccessible to the public.

"Recreational running and walking" should be added to "tramping, hunting, trapping and fishing" as permissible activities.

DCC should be preserving outdoor recreation space and encouraging healthy activities, not reducing community access to shared natural spaces.

I oppose all changes to these by laws.

Trail runners need these spaces for training for ultra marathons.

Runners are least impacful passing gently across the landscape, engage with wider user community to collectively manage the risks without blanket restrictions, improved and long term sustainability outcomes can be achieved together

These trails are well used and a highlight of our area. They need to stay open for public use.
