Access to walking trailing a basic human rights, we all need these trails open as a middle aged person, us oldies love and respect the bush, you have no reason to shut these trails then keep them open for us to use

Councils should learn to minimise impact on citizens and rather than focussing on restrictions and control should put their energy towards enhancing services, lowering costs and maintaining critical infrastructure.

Regularly tramp in this area. Would be a wasted amenity for Dunedin, if access restricted.
