The 3 Peaks trail is an iconic Dunedin trail and race. Trail runners and walkers are some of the most respectful people of our environment. Please let us keep access. The 3 Peaks race alone brings many people to the area, my family came to Dunedin, stayed in local hotels and supported local businesses around race weekend. Accessing the mountains is a huge part of who we are as kiwis, let us keep this connection to the when ua.

Applying for a permit in this situation is madness. Better to have a * limited period * hunting season, by permit. That closes the area for peopled safety.

This is an area I regularly access with my young children. It is also one of the few places we can go for relatively long day walks with our dog. Losing access to this area would significantly negatively impact our family’s ability to engage in the outdoor recreation that makes living in New Zealand such a special place to raise children.

I absolutely believe in keeping these open for day walkers and runners! Day walkers are often tomorrow's transport. This is such an accessible area to dunedin, we have to keep it open!

What is the DCC trying to achieve? This appears to be completely contrary to encouraging people to visit Dunedin. I walked Powder Ridge to Jubilee hut only a couple of weeks ago: 2 families, 4 children. What on earth can be the reason for banning access?

This is hugely important it is not restricted. I day walk these all the time and have taken many folks and friends on these tracks. It's one of the best parts of my back yard.
