I use all these trails for running and hiking. I also completed my NZOIA Bush assessment in these locations. Local schools also use all of these routes. Do not take these places away from the public.

This would be disastrous for the trail running community in Dunedin. Those who run and walk on these trails value the access to the beautiful nature and are almost invariably respectful to their surroundings. Having spent many days running and walking in areas, I can’t express what an enormous loss it would be to everybody in Dunedin who values the stunning surroundings which are so accessible to the city.

The trails that appear to be restricted are used very frequently for casual running and walking and for more formal iconic events such as the 3 Peaks +1

It would be a huge loss and a real shame if we lose casual access to these routes. As a university student it's great to be able to wander around the back trails exploring and not worrying about any permits and trespassing. It makes things unnecessarily complicated for everyone as well

I use the silverstream trails regularly. Its an amazing resource for the area and I would hate to see all the walkers and runners lose access to the full area

This is absolutely outrageous. And I can not believe I had not heard of this ridiculous proposal sooner and have missed opportunity to formally submit. Our hills and landscapes define our city, they define our people, to exclude us is to deny us our identity. Very very unhappy, and cannot believe prohibition is the only solution.

Kindly retain full access for recreational use.
Outdoor pursuits such as running and hiking have great benefits for physical and mental health.
This seems contrary to the council's recreational aims.
We count of you to keep these areas freely accessible to all at anytime and without having to request a permit. Thanks for your consideration and action in this sense.

Terrible decision to block user groups from free/easy access to public land. Hike up there alot and have many friends who trial run this area.

I am appalled at this crazy decision by the DCC. This area has been a paradise for trampers and runners for decades. Why terminate this enjoyment for many???
This is not good should be accessible to all.
