SLSD is the highest revenue making state park in the state. Last season they forced a $10 trail permit to ride on the dunes, where will it stop?

Nothing like trying to ruin a good weekend thing. For anyone who heads up there multiple times with multiple vehicles and days will be the ones who are greatly impacted by this. Is it there goal to scare away all of the people who pour money into the community on something other than a holiday?

this is stupid. just another way for them to get more money out of us after they force us to buy another sticker that does absolutely nothing for full sized orv's.

There is nothing wrong with the way it is. Sure it's a pain in the butt on Holiday weekends, but that's part of going to the dunes. I see no reason for it. Maybe a better system needs to be implemented for holiday weekends but there's no need for any other weekend during the season.

The state keeps referring to a survey that none of the dune regulars remembers taking. The $10 fee can add up to $340/yr per vehicle for anyone who lives close by and goes every weekend. The system as planned, is wrong. Aside from the user cost, it is not necessary except for possibly holiday weekends. Someone's going to make a lot of money on this and it's not going to be the local businesses!

This will make it harder for the average person that doesn't have the free time to drive up earlier to fight for a spot on the dunes for the weekend. Seems like it's just about the money these days and not about people's actual vacations that they plan and hope to enjoy. Everyone knows that Silver Lake Sand Dunes makes more money in one season than all the other Michigan State Parks combined. Now they want more to "run a Web page"? Ridiculous.

Been going for 20 years, this sounds like it needs a LOT more thinking going into it before starting
