A stray dog has no chance in the east end. Overpopulation, lack of education/practice to spay and neuter, and harsh conditions plague a dogs life. I'm not asking everyone to rescue or adopt one, I'm just sting we can make sure new litters of puppies don't suffer.

Houston's homeless pet crisis is not acceptable and something you would expect to see in a thriving economy. Something has to change. It's like a third world country out there and we HAVE to make a change!

Houston needs leadership that isn't afraid to address the overpopulation of dogs and cats. Our numbers are alarming! We need more animal control officers for a city the size of Houston. And most of all we need to find a humane way to end the suffering of so many animals who live on our streets.

Please make animal welfare a priority with the next round of elected officials. We need tougher spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws in order to stop this population explosion of unwanted animals. we need better shelter facilities so the City of Houston is not murdering innocent lives that were brought into this world by ignorant people.
