A young man was involved in a serious accident this morning, just before 7 a.m., while riding his bike near Decatur Avenue and Stephens Place.
Rockland Hatzoloh arrived on the scene within seconds of receiving the call.
The impact caused the young man to be thrown onto the windshield of the car, resulting in his helmet cracking and his bike splitting in two.
Thank God, the helmet saved his life.
He was quickly transported to Westchester Medical Center by Rockland Hatzoloh Paramedics in stable condition, having sustained only a femur injury.

I never expected this many people to pay attention but seeing everyone come together like this makes me feel like we might actually get those stop signs installed before anything else happens. People keep messaging me about their own near misses on Decatur and frankly it is terrifying but also so motivating to see us all pushing for safety at the same time.

A lot of places here is similar issues and not just bushes sometimes other things creating blind spot and needs to be addressed all over the area not just Spring Valley
This street has cars parked on both sides, creating blind spots and posing a risk to pedestrians. We need a safe walkway for everyone.
