I can certainly says I can hear a lot more noise from I-635 and I live a mile south.

The noise is definitely louder than before the expansion. We live north of Valley View and can still hear the noise inside our home not just outside.

We live on ridgeoak way and the rush hour and late night traffic is really loud. Especially the motorcycles on Thursday night and the ambulances from Deadman hospital.

The traffic noise of 635 is a quality of life issue. It is intolerable! Residents were totally mislead as to the impact this highway would have on them. The noise problem is unacceptable and must be fixed!

I appreciate someone taking the initiative to put this format together. If a few step up to watch over the group and keep it organized I can help assist with a few things. I am already a lead for the LBJ homeowners group to keep them up to date on all that is current.
I talked to the engineer that assisted our attorneys on the vibration and details of the construction (miss-construction ... if you only knew!). He said he would be interested in working with the group as a consultant and he is very well qualified in sound abatement issues and engineering.
I know our attorneys are busy but when you have a tight group formed I think I can get the lead attorney to meet with the group.
What I want to add here is this is NOT a tax paid issue to get this done. This was NOT a government built project with tax dollars. It was a bid put out and won by a company from Spain called Ferrovial. The are building toll roads all over the world including Mexico and South America.
"They" are not only the ones benefitting from the toll fees but have a "guarantee" from the State of Texas if it doesn't bring a certain amount in proceeds each year!
THEY designed and had it approved by the Tx Dot and if they said the sound would be less and they failed in their design and implementation to do it THEY will be required to correct it at their cost. Not to say they wont go up on the already ridiculous toll fees to pay for it.
This is a very "doable" thing but unless and until it gets organized your just going to have to keep putting up with Shawn Gray's banter and negative comments! LOL

I want the noise to diminish but i am not convinced taking the grooves away is the answer. As i understand it the grooves are to help the tires grip the road.
