London’s number one, multi-million pound West End nightclub - DSTRKT London, has denied entry to four young women on the basis of their skin tone and weight. The event that took place on the 26th September has sparked an outrage.

The club has denied the allegations despite the evidence provided and is a sharp reminder that many clubs have been getting away with this type of unjust behaviour for years. It has prompted other women and men of colour to come forward with their own stories of discriminatory treatment at the hands of racist door staff.

The club has denied the allegations despite the evidence provided and is a sharp reminder that many clubs have been getting away with this type of unjust behaviour for years. It has prompted other women and men of colour to come forward with their own stories of discriminatory treatment at the hands of racist door staff.

Celebrities such as US singer Omarion, UK rappers Tinchy Stryder, Stormzy and Scorcher, NFL footballer Osi Umenyiora, Eastenders star Tameka Empson and BBC 1Xtra’s Sarah-Jane Crawford, have all spoken out against the club on their social media platforms.

This petition is to ask the Westminster City Council to highlight and put a STOP to the following issues:

  • That DSTRKT London Night Club has a racist, sexist and discriminatory door policy
  • That DSTRKT London night club has denied all allegations despite the overwhelming evidence against them
  • That this type of sadistic behaviour has been going on for many years across London without any legal bodies addressing it or doing anything about it.
  • To give justice to those who have ever been discriminated against, because of the colour of their skin, weight or sexuality.
  • To teach the Westminster City Council that these types of attitudes (that many people still hold) are unacceptable and most importantly against the law.
  • Anyone found breaking this law must be held accountable.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The stories shared in the comments reveal a pattern of behavior that extends far beyond a single incident. Each personal account forces us to confront a culture of exclusion that has remained hidden for too long. I am currently compiling these experiences to present a documented case to the council.

The momentum behind this call to hold DSTRKT accountable is growing as we approach one hundred signatures. Reaching this milestone will signal to the council that our community refuses to accept discriminatory practices in our city.

As a darkskin Londoner the recent actions of Dstrkt has made an no go zone in my mind and in this day and age there should not be racial boundaries where some are allowed to alienate others because of their skin tone or size

This is about all of the clubs that are imposing racist door policies. Dstrkt is not the only one. We don't want to give our money to people who don't respect us, but equally, they should not be allowed to continue discriminating against us blatantly and keep their licenses.

This story is disturbing! Dskrt has to go! They have not made any attempts to reconcile the situation . There damage control has been atrocious, and gives the Veiw that they really don't care. So dskrt needs to be shutdown.

I've had the same thing, me and two of my friends went to a club on Oxford Street that many friends had been to. We were told we don't have the right look. From that day I can't be arsed with that type of club. If I don't see a one or two ppl like me in the queue I'll give it a miss.

As a club/lounge owner I understand the concept of having a good look in your establishment.. It's very delicate to get that balance but there is no excuse to use that to exclude people on race or creed. West End clubs need a rude awakening on conduct and this should serve as such.

No one should be excluded because of: race, creed disability or size! Dstrkt illegally run a discriminatory door policy, which goes against the: 2010 Equality Act. Any business implementing discriminatory policies, should be penalised & shut down.

It's illegal to refuse entry on the grounds skin colour. Discrimination should not be encouraged, they had enough time to change how they conduct there business yet we have seen no change or even trying to address the problems pointed out to them shut them down or they should go to court.

This is way in the U.S. many black colleges, schools, clubs exist. They don't mind playing black music and letting black famous people in though. I'm glad Omarion, Stormzy ect have spoken out and refused to play there, hypocrites.
