Shut down Victorious Valley!

Needs to be shut down forever. One of my closest friends went through so much abuse here. Places like this should not exist.

I ended up on look down for the same reason except I got my first demerit due to a pair of socks not being folded in my underwear drawer. Unfortunately I also got beat with the paddle every day too. Right after supper chores were finished. The psychological torture has stuck with me the most though.

This place abuse girls in a way their parents who sent them here cannot stomach it

I was on look down for about 7 months… it was the most demeaning and loneliest hell you could go through… I also got beatings daily. They set you up to fail with those damn demerits. I got my first cause my underwear drawer wasn’t folded perfectly

I'm so sorry to hear this. My husband and his siblings told me absolute horror stories about their time at this home as children. Considering Victorious Valley is still being searched in recent years, the damage done has been lasting and not soon forgotten. I truly wish nothing but healing and happiness from all victims now that this evil place has closed it's doors for good.

Hi Robert, I was the one who started this petition a long time ago whenever my husband told me about the abuse that him and his siblings endured while being at the home. I spent a decent amount of my time researching documented cases of other children who had also experienced reprehensible treatment, emotional/psychological as well as physical abuse over the years while at Victorious Valley. Considering you were one of the staff members being investigated by HEAL along with Jason and Nikki Casey, Johnny and Susan McGill, David Oldencamp, Erika Estle and Sarah Whitt–I don't believe you have very much room to talk about the abuse that was going on behind closed doors. Considering you were likely actively taking part in said abuse that included but was not limited to: social isolation, cruel and unusual punishments based around a demerit system, separation/alienation from family, constant monitoring and surveillance, child labor. In more severe cases, some children had been subjected to psychological torture tactics like forcing them to keep their eyes on the ground at all times (i.e.- not able to look at/talk to anyone or speak at all for that matter), forcing a child to finish a full plate of food to the point that they vomited all of it back up because their stomach had been so empty, locking girls in closets, duct taping children's mouths among many other disturbing instances in which abuse was deployed as a means of punishment. If you weren't seeing abuse then you were part of the problem with Victorious Valley. To suggest they were "too lenient" only reinforces that assumption. I didn't expect this petition to take off as much as it did, and it truly sickens me knowing that IFB "reform" schools/organizations like this exist and have been able to get away with abusing children for as long as they have. Thankfully Victorious Valley closed down and my husband as well as his siblings can sleep a little better knowing that others will never have to
