They actually listened and the rules are changing which feels honestly surreal because I spent so many nights just staring at my bookshelf wondering if this would ever happen. It is just so wild to think about how we finally got the board game situation fixed even though I still …

There is a Law in Quebec (Article 54 of Law 101) which stops Board Game store from selling English games, unless the French version exists.

This petition is to show the government that the people want change! We need to unite, and finally make those changes happen, for all our sakes!

A thousand names on this list is honestly wild since I remember staring at the screen when it was just me and my friends wondering if anyone else even cared about these rules. People are actually talking about this now and it feels like we might actually get someone to listen to us about board game shelves being empty which is just absurd when you think about it.

I have been reading so many stories from store owners who are just trying to keep their shelves stocked without tripping over bureaucracy and it makes me realize how absurd this whole situation really is. It feels like we are shouting into the void sometimes but then I get another message from a board game lover who is just as frustrated as I am about these outdated rules.

I was just checking the count and we are almost at one hundred signatures which is wild because I really thought this would just be a small thing at first. If everyone who already clicked the button could just drop the link in one group chat or maybe post it on their feed tonight we might actually get some real attention on this ridiculous rule before the weekend hits.

This is not the way to save your language and culture. It's by making sure you family, children, grandchildren keep it going by speaking it at home and reliving stories of the past. It certainly is not by disallowing everybody else's culture. That's how they keep theirs alive.

If you want Quebec to get back on it's feet economically then we have to put a stop to the OQLF from nit picking at every little thing, all they are doing is driving businesses into bankruptcy or making them leave the Province for somewhere else.

Merci

quebec is a multilingual province. We all understand that learning french is important, but stop imposing the french language on ridiculous things. I am perfectly quadrilingual including french, so i did my part, now stop interfering with my hobby of board gaming
