1) SeaWorld says they "don't separate mothers from their calves," and they wait until "after they have been weaned." Well great!...Except that in the real world whales stay with their mothers for THEIR ENTIRE LIVES!
2) Only 1% of whales in the real world ("the wild" as others prefer, but to me that can sound negative) have dorsal collapse, while in captivity pretty much every male, and some females, experiences it (not 23%, as pro-captivators would have you believe, a statistic that only applies to whales from New Zealand).
3) Captive whales live to be 25-35 years old. Free whales live to be 50-60 (males) and 80-100 (females).
4) Furthermore, each family of killer whales has their own language. When SeaWorld and other such companies put whales from separate families together, they become aggressive. It would be like putting four 6-year-olds, who speak different languages, together in a small room with limited resources with a few babysitters who stop by every once in a while to make them perform and if one of them doesn't get along with the others (is being bullied), the babysitters put them in another room, making them sit there alone. Oh wait...that is unspeakable to do to a highly intelligent life form like a human! So why do we do it to highly intelligent creatures like the whale?

To think you kidnap a child and trap them in a cell, rape them of their dignity to satisfy a human for entertainment, slave for food and call yourself a company. People involvement in non moral captivity of any creature is digesting sad and down right greedy. Tillicum and the offspring and others have suffered enough and i hope SeaWorld sinks and karma burns everyone involved in to ashes for their ignorance. People are what disgust me not animals.

Sea World needs to be shut down, and all the animals need to be returned to the ocean.
Sea World is an unconscious (from greed eg. $1.5 Billion 2013 Revenue), and dishonest, organization of inhumane practices, endangering both the animals and the trainers, to the points of death for both (see CNN Blackfish). Sea World needs to pay punitive monetary damages for what they have done, their crimes against humanity and against sea animals.
They also should be prosecuted for murder against those trainers that they deliberately put in harms way, because they did not tell the trainers the truth about the frustration of their captive whales, and the trainers were unknowingly put in a life-risking situation. Sea World’s deceptive practices are a reproach to mankind.
Sea World should also be forbidden to capture any further wales in the future, due to the 3 wales that were killed during the capture of Tilikum.
