open letter to Seaworld:
I am an annual pass holder at Disney and was considering getting one to Seaworld, too. I would like to give my impressions of my first time to Seaworld last Saturday. I ate at Sharks and it was great but, all else was not.
The park was dirty and dingy. I did not see many employees around. There was trash all over the ground and the garbage cans overflowing. I believe at Disney all employees have to pick up any trash they see on the ground. No one was doing that. The bathrooms were dirty and the water fountains were hot water that tasted awful. One was completely clogged and an employee said it had been like that for 2 weeks. So, we went into a cafe for some free ice water (like Disney) and the employees there looked at us with disdain. No employee we met was particularly "friendly" or looked happy.
Most of all I want to talk about the dolphin and whale shows. You have an opportunity to create a beautiful, gorgeous show with these animals with soothing music, lights and story but, instead it is an affront to the senses with loud blaring music that these poor animals are subjected to daily. Their hearing is 1000 times better than ours so can you imagine what that is like for them? They would never experience such ear splitting noise in the wild. How can you do this to them? My heart was breaking for them.
Your park is the epitome of everything that is wrong with keeping these animals in captivity. I lived in the Florida Keys for 20 years and have been to all the research centers there and have been with dolphins in the wild. I have NEVER seen such abuse!
You have been given an opportunity to educate people from all over the World about these creatures but, you are pandering to the ignorance about them. That noise is unnecessary and is not about the wild creatures but, about what YOU think people want. I dont agree. I did not know what to expect when I went but, I did NOT expect to see what I saw.

Its so sad that the famous Tilikum has died January 6th 2017. He only started killing people when he was being abused and put in a very small space and being picked on by other mammals. Sad to think this is still happening to this day in age. And it probably still happening to Tilikum's son and others!!! #SHUTDOWNABUSIVESEAWORLD

This should have been closed and banned years ago. It is absolutely cruel and inhumane! Let the animals back into the wild.
