Needs to be canceled because I saw where they put a scam newton jersey on Bear Bryant’s statue. Ok let me tell you what I did. I went to auburn Alabama and I poisoned the two Toomers trees. Ok I put spike 80 in em. They not dead yet but they definitely will die. I really don’t care. ROLL DAMN TIDE

It’s not even that school should be canceled... It’s the fact that GC is refusing to address the problem outside a three sentence mass email... that’s wrong. We need reassurance that the school acknowledges the tragedies that have occurred, and understand that negativity takes a harsh toll on all in our community. When others hurt, we hurt too. That’s a good student body, and unrespectable administration. Feeling unsafe in a place of education, that should feel like home, is not okay and ignoring your students when they truly need comfort only makes matters worse.

Students who are exposed to traumatic events are at risk for increased levels of PTSD, depression, and other forms of mental distress. Student responses and coping strategies to tragedies such as these recent events can vary greatly. Recognizing the signs of distress, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and helping students in identifying assistance related to the trauma can go a long way toward helping the students successfully navigate through times like these.

I also shouldn’t be concerned/scared to leave my dorm room. This isn’t healthy or safe. We don’t feel safe on campus. I literally considered going and buying mace today cause I’m that freaked out.

I’m homestly worried about my safety, we need help in some way and a small break. It’s too much stress and now we have all of this on our shoulders.

I didn’t think all this stuff really affected me but now that I’ve had the time to sit down and try to wrap my head about this I’ve realized this has really affected me. And I can’t imagine the close friends to those that were personally affected. Please, just give us a small time to grieve and recuperate. Campus has been somber and lacked any of the energy its had in the past. Even if it’s one day I think that would help people recover.

Students have lost a friend, a home, have been taken ill in numerous ways, and are questioning their own safety due to these incidents along with the reported robberies on/near campus. The turmoil this week has brought continues to make itself known and it’s time for the bobcats to take some time to recuperate and get their feet back on the ground. This is not a sign of defeat but an opportunity to allow the bobcats to become stronger through these tragedies they’ve experienced in such a short time. #onceabobcatalwaysabobcat
