You are welcome to start your own petition if you are not in favor of schools reopening. I disagree that it's too soon. We should have been open to in-person instruction on day one of this school year. But we didn't open due to the teacher's fears. And looks like many of the teachers want to do distance learning for the ENTIRE year regardless of what the numbers are in Humboldt County. This is a disservice to our students.

I worry about kids being left behind due to their parents working and not having the time to also be teachers, as well as disadvantaged kids. I would love to see a hybrid option, as well and online/distance learning for those who don’t feel comfortable sending their kids in person. Thanks.

This is a necessity. Why are the members of the school board acting against the judgment of the educated authorities . There is no justification for not schooling in person period .

My son and I have had a lot of difficulty online...it is just not conducive with his learning style. He thrived in the classroom, it has been heartbreaking. I do not want to see this happen to my niece and nephews. Thank you.
