I'm a resident of Saskatchewan and believe we need to support heritage efforts in this province. Let's be proud of our past and preserve this building for our future. Tax relief is a low-cost firm of support.

Spport from the local government would be a big boast to this project. It is bound to bring more visitors to the town and bring positive feedback.

What possible reason could the town council have to not encourage restoration work, particularly where the building is sure to draw tourism and interest?

The town of Shaunavon owes you a reply to your letter. If they do not implement a tax incentive program, they then owe you an explanation as to why not. It has been 3 months since a letter went to town council? This project has gathered followers from everywhere. Talk about putting a town on the map!

This project is not only wonderful in the sense of art and community, but also will be a win-win for Shaunavon economically if it can draw tourism dollars. I would love to see collaboration & help from the town or other governmental levels to make this dream a possibility! Small town Saskatchewan is a precious, unique thing. Anyone trying to bring more attention to that should be supported.

A great deal of heart and soul goes into both the structure and the community with this type of restoration. It’s shameful local council won’t support it

Live in Halifax and have followed your page since the beginning. I hope you are successful in getting the changes made to existing laws so you can continue your wonderful restoration.

Support for people with the passion to restore an historic building should be offered through multiple forums; including tax incentives municipally and provincially.

This would be a gem.and get some local business revenue. When people come to take a peek. He is doing an amazing job. This needs to be considered.

This does not make any sense to me. If you want historic buildings restored and back to being useful, you need to work with owners while restoration is ongoing.

This building should not have to pay taxes as it should be registered as a heritage site.

Any heritage building should receive tax incentive. In the end it will bring revenue to the town.

So sad that council shows no interest in what you are doing and that it will bring about economic growth. Sweep it under the rug and hope it will go away mentality only creates more problems (in my unsolicited opinion) good luck!
