The hotel is being saved from decay and is being restored. There should be a tax break during the time it takes to restore the hotel. There should not be hurdles like this for people willing to save our heritage buildings!

This should be a no-brainer. The opportunities for tourism that this hotel will bring will more than make up for any lost revenue. Do the right thing and support this project. There are many of us following the progress online and looking forward to visiting this beautiful piece of history.

It's sad how many historical buildings and houses are left to crumble in our province, instead of having grants/low interest loans to help people buy and restore these properties

This is a VERY good cause. Few people have the skill, time, and determination to tackle what's going on with the Grand Hotel restoration......and it's being done right.

Ridiculous there even needs to be a petition for this. This man is restoring a piece of history in your town - grant him his tax break immediately.

I drive from Ontario to BC and back annually. I would plan to visit Shaunavon regularly just to stay in this amazing heritage hotel.

This is such a good project for the community and province. If he wasn't working on it, the hotel would just become derelict. Please support this project!

Incentives need to be made available to restore these buildings that are still fully functional

When someone is trying to restore Shaunavons old buildings they should not be charged taxes until project completed

I believe the restoration of heritage buildings is important. It gives the town or city a link to the past and also an added attraction for visitors.

We should be encouraging people who take on the task to restoring these buildings with plans on opening a business once complete.
These tax breaks can be approved on an annual basis to ensure work is still being completed.

This is such a worthwhile project and should bring revenue to the Town and surrounding area in years to come.

This is a worthwhile project that needs to be supported. Too many old buildings in Saskatchewan are torn down and destroyed. Let’s start keeping heritage alive.

It’s a great project; we toured it. I think it will bring a lot of tourism to the town and area.

This only makes sense, the restoration process adds much to the town so tax relief should be made.
