I live in a city in Ontario where we have a number Heritage Designated buildings. It is very important to support owners of these structures to ensure they maintained and restored so generations of the future can also appreciate and enjoy them.

Good for heritage sites, and good for the people who care enough about them to restore them.

I would drive a long way to come and stay at the hotel. It brings me great happiness to watch the beautiful restoration of this property. You need to give the guy a break! He has spent so much money to help bring people to your town.

We need to preserve these old buildings before the history is destroyed.

This type of tax incentive will help encourage people to save and restore heritage buildings. I was in Shaunavon a year before Kent took on the restoration and thought it such a shame the building was not being restored. I was very happy to hear later that it was. We will be visiting Shaunavon again this summer, only because of the attention Kent has brought to the town. We live in BC and drive along Hwy 1 to Melville to visit family. Shaunavon is out of our way.

Agreed!! This is an opportunity for the town as well for Ken after all his hard work is complete. It's a restoration that is admired by many and another reason the town will attract tourism, vital to our Canadian economy, especially little towns that don't really have an awful lot going for them.....like the Romans said if you build it they will come....keep on restoring Ken and maybe others will follow and the little town will flourish!!

We are losing so many of these beautiful buildings. If someone is taking the time and energy to restore this Hotel, help them out. I want my children and grandchildren to see buildings like this in person, not just in books. This is our heritage.

What Kent has undertaken to restore this wonderful piece of heritage should be met with all the help through grants etc as possible.
Any and all monetary help is needed.
Myself ( and there will be many) cannot wait to come visit Shaunavan and stay in this Hotel.
To have someone so passionate as this to restore such a building should be honoured with as much help as possible
