Resoundingly yes!!! My late father was totally into SW Sask Tourism, and never got to fully realize that dream. So many things have changed and the area is so beautiful and nostalgic, and I think Kent is totally bringing life back to Shaunavon. I support him, the Grand Hotel, and the whole area!

This initiative would greatly help in saving our old buildings, and hopefully spure others on to take on similar projects

Restoring this hotel is just a terrific idea. These old prairie hotels are very special. They represent a part of prairie history that risks being forgotten altogether. Please recognize the importance of your — our! — heritage, and create a local tax incentive program to help with the renovation.

I believe that it is in the best interest of the community to support this restoration!

This project is a cause for celebration for Shaunavon. The tax break during the renovation project is deserved, needed and should be extended. Town council should understand what a draw to the town this hotel will be. Shame on them for making it so difficult to be successful.

The restoration of heritage buildings benefits entire communities. In economic terms, it provides positive externalities. Since we all benefit from this activity, encouraging it through tax relief is the right thing to do.

It is a wonderful project with many followers that will translate this into tourism dollars. That influx of tourism dollars will certainly offset any tax relief given to this project.

A restored commercial heritage property is a huge benefit to a community. Individuals who undertake such a massive and costly project should receive some tax breaks. When completed it will bring tourists and increased commerce to the community. Surely this is an endeavor worthy of support (through tax breaks or incentives). An abandoned and decaying building becomes a costly expense for the community. Recognize the value in restoration.
