Show Support for the Grand Hotel Restoration by way of Tax Relief

Such a lovely old building should be a definite Heritage site! Hard to find someone willing to restore at their own expense. Shaunavon should be grateful for this which will be a tourist draw in future!

This Hotel will bring in Tourists like myself spending money in your town. Help will be deeply appreciated allowing money to be concentrated on restoration.

I totally agree that only good things can come for the town of Shaunavon if they help support this project by giving tax credits for the restoration. I would come and visit it someone in the future.

Shaunavon would be better to wait until 2030 before taxing this restoration. After all, what did they get in taxes in the past when it was just sitting there. The town will eventually benefot for the increase in tourists visiting.

History needs to be protected and if someone us willing and able I believe they should get some breaks.

Please give Kent a tax break as he is renovating the hotel. There are not a lot of people willing to use their time and money to fix up old buildings these days. Kent isn't a big corporation with lots of money. Just an individual using his skills to make an old hotel beautiful again. All his hard work will make the Grand Hotel Shaunavon a tourist attraction, adding money to your town. Please help him out.

As a decendant of early Saskatchewan pioneers and immigrants, I strongly support the work of reclaiming and restoring heritage homes and historic buildings, that tell the stories of these early settlers. Supporting this important work through tax breaks, restoration grants and other local government initiatives, will help to keep these valuable projects going.

Preserving history is so important (and so expensive) gov’t initiative's and assistance should be available to save local landmarks and beautify neighbourhoods

How can you charge someone taxes when he is putting all his money into restoration and this building will benefit the town later bringing people into town

Shaunavon was my home for my I first 20 years and I totally support any tax breaks that can be given for this renovation.

This is a huge undertaking by a private citizen that will draw tourists. He should not have to pay any property taxes as the tourists will create revenue.

Doesn't the town know how much they'll benefit from having this building restored.

Keep the history of this beautiful structure. Help instead of hinder this project which will only benefit the town of Shaunavan and surrounding areas
