2015 was a difficult year for the French people and for the supporters of freedom allover the world. As an Egyptian artist -and human being in the first place- I was touched and had rage in my chest for the attacks France witnessed. For me France is a symbol for freedom of speech and liberty. Personally, a couple of months ago, I was present in the French consulate in Alexandria to show respect to the souls of those who were killed and horrified in the name of fanaticism, in the last attacks.

Two days ago I have seen a caricature that was apparently published in one of the latest editions of Charlie Hebdo. The drawing went viral on the internet under the name of "Alan Kurdi caricature". I find it shameful. I am not Kurd. I am not Syrian. But again I am a human being. I find myself in a deep need to react!

I ask those who still believe in the values of humanity and who are still sane to sign this petition, inorder to ask Charlie Hebdo to show some respect to the dead.
