My condo rental is my sole income. If I wanted a management company to manage it, I would let them. They cannot do a better job than I do. My condo is my asset I own it. Property values matter to me, the inside of my unit being taken care of matters to me, not to management companys. I pay property taxes.
I completely comply with all the rules and regulations in Summit County and have been since day one and pay state sales tax and report all of my income from my rental. YOU are not leveling the playing field for the property managers and the hotel's, you are dictating it to me and taking away my rights to manage my own property!

Great for c ommercial but not for individuals. Set a reasonable minimum annual amount such as 2k per month, adjusted annually.

The way this legislation is currently written and without factual data to research and act upon, I am opposed to currently proposed legislation.

I have lived in another state with a similar game plan. It really does not work and I am opposed to the current Summit County proposal. How can you pass such a proposal with specifics!! Absurd

I am especially upset about the fact that there will be a limit of two people per room. We have been renting our two-bedroom condo since 1977. One of the rooms has a twin and a bunk bed so it sleeps 3.

I understand the county's intent to maintain a peaceful safe place for people to live, but they have gone to the extreme with the limited # of guests, cars, fees, and onerous controls they have drafted.

I represent Tiger Run RV RESORT. As with others who are in a managed resort feel we should be excluded. Based on feedback at meetings, this is a problem in residential areas, not developments designed for short term rentals.

I am completely against regulating short term rental! This county and those surrounding it depend on our tourists. Would you rather have a ton of huge hotels? If you want to conserve our county, don't put the option to build MORE. I really do not want this bill to pass.

I think that the brakes should be tapped on this ordinance right now. I have attended all the meetings and I feel that we as a county should wait and see how the ordinances in vail go. I feel this is too much too soon and will hurt our economy.

These regulations should not be implemented in closed room forums and should have input from the community to help decide what is best for the community.

I oppose to the currently proposed regulation.
Responsible owners who rent their properties on a short term basis already enforce occupancy maximum, noise level, parking, trash and smoking rules. They also have a sales tax account, collect and remit sales taxes on all short term rentals.
These owners vet their guests and already solve problems as they occur. They also maintain their units well and provide a safe environment for guests.
Have you looked and analyzed current complaints received in the county? It is fair to assume that most came from properties that are currently not paying sales tax and that are not operated legally and that very few came in from owners who are already doing everything legally.
Some action, however, needs to be taken to eliminate all properties that are not operated professionally and legally to compete with law abiding property owners. Enacting the proposed regulation will not solve the problem. Such properties will continue to be offered illegally, sales tax will not get collected and remitted and such property owners will not seek the business license that this regulation proposal will require. Without such license to begin, there will be no sanction possible and no problem resolution.
In addition, why are short term rentals singled out? What about long term rentals that are offered throughout the county and don't have to follow any regulations with regards to parking, over occupancy etc?
You suggest that if a property is located next to a STR, the neighbor will now have the ability to call a hotline to complain about parking, noise, smoking, over-occupancy, trash etc....What if this person lives next to a 2 bedroom long term rentals with 12 occupants, 5-6 cars, etc? Are you saying that this would be OK because it is a long term rental?
I feel that the underlying motivation to enact a regulation for short-term rental properties only is to make it more difficult for owners to operate so that they choose to hire local p
