Please NO short term rental in Silver Shekel. Renters make horrible neighbors. This is a family residential neighborhood, not a resort zone.

I purchased my condo in 1991 and have had short term renters for the last 28 years with no issues. I pay $405/month in HOA dues plus property taxes. My renters bring revenue to summit county businesses and pay sales taxes. I employ local residents for maintenance and housekeeping of the condo. The HOA regulations manage the parking, trash, noise issues etc. There is no need for these additional regulations and financial burdens to the property owners. I am vehemently opposed to the implementation of the required county permit for short-term rentals.

I most vehemently OPPOSE these new regulations! If enacted into law Summit County and all of our properties will suffer!

Areas such as the resorts are designed for these short term rentals. Regulations may be important in more local neighborhoods, but in our resort areas where we have owned for 18 years, there is no problem. No taxation for the Counrty

I oppose these regulations. The HOA's already address the problems listed. Also, I don't see how placing limitations that will decrease the number of tourists coming and staying in a short term rental could help a county where 50% of all employment is directly related to tourism (data from www.townofdillon.com).

Please vote NO. These regulations are poorly conceived.

The only reason that we even need to think about housing is that we have the large resorts. They were purpose built for short-term rentals. If your regulations gum up that system, the resorts won't survive and Summit County's problems will be much greater.

Vote AGAINST the implementation of a required county permit to use your home as a short-term rental in Summit County, CO. The HOAs that I pay for our condo in River Run at Keystone covers what these regulations try to address. Implementing these regulations would have a negative impact on all of Summit County.

I am the General Manager of a property management company in Keystone. I have attended all public meetings and a special sit down with the county to help scope out how we might feel about these proposed short term rental regulations with no apparent impact to the county staff and or planning commision. This is why I am writing a letter to the editor and continue to try and voice my opinion. While this regulation might force some owners into using a company like the one I run, I prefer to earn my business from clients who want to use our services, not from clients that are required to use our services due to government regulations. I strongly oppose these short term rental regulations as proposed to the Summit County Board of County Commissioners. I believe they will do significant harm in the resort areas of Keystone and Copper Mountain. The employees who work in the vacation rental industry, the families they support, and those who rely on the revenues that our tourists spend, should object to these regulations as proposed. Our livelihood is in jeopardy and at the will of the Board of County Commissioners. Employee wages and jobs will be reduced if the regulations pass as approved. The negative economic consequences of these proposed regulations was not clearly thought through or discussed. When you reduce occupancy you reduce the price, when there is less money to be had, there is less to pay our team with, it is really that simple. There was a blatant disregard to discussing or even understanding how that might be a potential problem. The planning commission members only feel like their own houses might be a better place to live if there neighbors could not rent out there homes, with a total disregard for the resort communities designed to accommodate renters and that would be incredibly disrupted by this blanket regulation approach they are taking. Keystone and Copper areas will be negatively impacted. Properties that were built and appr

I oppose these new regulations. Please allow the HOA to handle issues regarding STR's.

We oppose new regulations on our home. We already pay over $300 per month to our HOA, along with real estate taxes...I don’t need more taxes. We rent this short term so we can afford to keep our condo, with plan to move there in the future. I strongly oppose these regulations.

This would a ripple effect on the county as well - so many of us recommend and drive commerce to the county based on the current regulations and economy. The regulations in place currently support this. Please consider the broader effects of such a proposal - we oppose this.
