Shenton College currently uses plastic containers to serve food in the canteen. While this may be cheap and easy to use, this also contributes to landfill and threatens the environment severely by a big margin, especially since there are more than two thousand students in Shenton.
A simple and more cost-effective solution would be to use your own container and utensils, by using your own container and utensils (spoons, forks etc.) you should be entitled to a 50c discount. If you agree with us please sign this petition, we aim to get fifty signatures before showing this to the student council. By signing this petition only will you not have to pay 50c but you will also reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill, which is a staggering 20 million tonnes per year. Be part of the solution, not the problem!

I honestly cannot believe how many people actually care about these containers because I thought I was the only one staring at that mountain of plastic trash in the bin every lunch. My brain is spinning thinking about the student council meeting (assuming they even listen to us) and how this might actually change the way we eat here.

A giant thanks to Jerek!! You have helped Leire and I so much! It is so awesome to see so many supporters, thanks a bunch guys!! Plastic can take up to an atrocious 1000 years to break down, not even mentioning the horrible gases let off in the making! Please tell your friends and family, we need as many people as possible signing to make this great change!
Hey guys, I thank you for your support in this petition, I would like to thank Eva, because she was the one that convinced a bunch of you, but now I would like to mention that his idea has been brought up to Mr McQueen and he says he will bring it up and see if it can pass. The only thing that could stop this idea is the health and safety regulations, but I highly doubt that will be an issue!! Thank you guys so much for your support and I will be sure to update you guys on whether this has passed and any other eco updates! Until then, thanks. Jerek

We have almost completely destroyed our earth. Our only home. Shenton is massive so it can make a massive difference. Tell your friends and family we can change this!
