I have hunted Murrells Inlet 45 years. Now my children enjoy the harvest of ducks,doves,marsh hens and shell fish. We have sanctuary adjoining the inlet. Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington state park. I know for a fact not many shots or very few Black ducks are harvested every year. !iving by the inlet with the wind right sometimes shooting can sound close, but living here it is a part of life much as listening to our bell bouy. Its such a privelege to live and hear this as it has been for decades. The federal government makes sure these birds have sanctuary by law. Let our children enjoy the natural joys life can bring. I think mostly people that live on and near the inlet dont like to be awaken by gun shots that may total twenty during a very short season. Many doves fly and really need to be harvested to keep a check on population and keeping a healthy bird. Fireworks are the real enviroment threat with polution and stress on all species as the resturants prosper for greed .

No need for a sanctuary. The inlet is rarely hunted and there isn't a lot of places you can hunt with the laws already.

We have our own global flyway in beaufort county which also needs protection. After hurricane Mathew harbor , fripop, and hunting islands were damaged. Rookeries destroyed. It's important to work to preserve their habitats. Developing barrier islands like bay point is also endangering our flyways and roosting

Too many tree huggers wanting to save everything. Let hunters hunt! It obviously illegal to kill certain birds, so let the laws do their jobs and let hunters hunt!

There are plenty of protected areas for wildfowl in this immediate area. Hunters and birds have coexisted for along time in this area no need change.

I'm in favor of protecting endangered species. The birds are not the endangered species here. Local's traditions are endangered by the newcomers. Leave Murrell's Inlet alone.
