Shannon Quay West Hotel, Ruskey, Co. Leitrim should not be used to house Asylum seekers to the detriment of the village and it's local population.

I was in this when it was a hotel & its not suitable for provision center, just make it a hotel again Rooskey is a lovely place dont ruin it!

Village Is to small and rural . doctors surgery can't cope with what they have already.

Infrastructure is non existent in Rooskey its my ancestral home but its way behind, these people need help the bus service i used as a child from Rooskey to sligo isn't there even and at that time it was the pits of a service. What are the government going to do buy them all cars and give them licenses ?? No doubt the people of Rooskey would welcome them with open arms If they could cater for them with adequate services support and employment. This is not the case and the reason i signed the petition. The village isn’t big enough to take so many people it also has lots of elderly who would be unsettled by such a change I know they need somewhere to stay but you also need to consider the residents

Start at home with the homeless

They need help not to be plonked in rooskey and forgotten about. There is no suitable amenities to cater for such a large influx of people never mind people who are traumatised. They should be housed somewhere that actually has facilities suitable for their needs.

Rooskey doesn't have the facilities to support these people needs. You are just putting them in a corner without giving them a second thought.

Leav it the way it is no foreigners in it

A democratic government and elected local reps are obligated to investigate to the fulllest extent, and communicate to its citizens, particularly in this sort of case where there is extreme concern, as to what infrastructure changes should be, and would be, provided and funded (not by the residents of Rooskey) to accommodate such an increase in the population of the town - from transportation, road work, health facilities, schooling, food services, entertainment, religious facilities, etc. How and when will this be provided PRIOR to any unilateral decision about the settlement and determination of the safety of any Asylum seekers. Asylum seekers, as well as citizens of Rooskey or any other town or city, deserve a comprehensive and open examination of the entire proposal, with the appropriate professionals, whether engineers or health, retail, transportation or other consultants, deemed necessary for the health, safety and enjoyment of Rooskey (and surrounding towns) for all, including Asylum seekers.

That is not suitable housing anyways but there is no bus service there,no close post office and only little corner shops. Bad placement for 1. And number 2, the country is still recovering economically from the recession and few years ago and is finally on its way up. This will only set Ireland back, as it is now going to be financially responsible for hundreds of people. A responsibility this country cannot afford as it cannot even take care of its own people first. Stop treating Irish people as second class citizens in their own country.
