Seems like basics to limit class size and pay teachers on time and more. Lets get rid of central office bloat, & hold central office accountable for better processes/systems.

My son is struggling socially and academically at the school. School social workers are helping us for emotional/social skills. But for academic aspect, there is no support and I’m very concerned about him going to middle school next year.

Our teachers deserve to be properly paid. And SF should be a magnet for today’s—and tomorrow’s—talented teachers! The only way to attract and keep great teachers is to pay them well enough that they can afford to live here. It’s just math.

We support our hard-working teachers in San Francisco, who have such a critical role in our society to provide education for young minds. We are hopeful for a fair contract and resolution, which is essential for our children and the future of our community.

Teachers have one of the biggest responsibilities not only regarding the success of children in the classroom but also the success of the community as they inspire and positively impact children and their families. They deserve the respect, consideration and dignity that a valued and well-paid job bring. With such a responsibility and doing one of the hardest and impactful jobs in the life of so many people, it’s mandatory that a serious dialogue about how teachers are finally going to be truly recognized and.compensated accordingly with their highly demanding job.
Can the district really survive if teachers continue to leave the profession because they can’t make ends meet? How many more need to leave? How big is the need the district currently have? How do you measure the impact of the lack of teachers in the community? It’s enough, stop ignoring the importance of teachers and start recognizing their worth.
