End the Sub Crisis in San Francisco Public Schools

I am a public school Music Teacher and there are literally 2 subs that are dependable for Music teaching. We are in DIRE need of qualified subs!!

This is very important, please address the substitute teacher shortage!

Education is the foundation of our society so city resources should be prioritized to meet the needs of students, teachers, and schools.

Every day a sub job is unfilled or a sub doesn't show up, several classrooms full of students are affected as the students are put into other classes. The district needs to fix this issue.

They should increase sub pay in order to get more potential sub candidates to apply. The current daily rate is laughable.

All kids deserve to have a trained teacher in the classroom. All schools deserve support!

I am a retiring teacher from Mission HS. I will be retiring with about two months of sick leave that I never took because there were never enough qualified teachers to sub. I suggest to keep the core sub program which places experienced tenured teachers in the high needs classrooms and pays them accordingly.

scandalous!! SFUSD needs to get their act together on multiple levels. Doesn't a sub make less than $150 a day?

Pay teachers and subs a liveable wage to live in one of the most expensive places!

The price of living is making it difficult for teachers to exist. I can't imagine a substitute living in the City and that's why we're seeing this crisis. If I were a substitute teacher or teacher I would look to find jobs in the South Bay/East Bay or Northbay since rent is cheaper. The problem has deep issues

SFUSD has seriously dropped the ball on this matter. As a parent it's disconcerting to be informed of 27 days of substitute "no show". We need a more affirmative action on this matter, something that would be beneficial to the children/teachers.

I no longer have school-aged children but I am very aware of the disparity between neighborhoods and it doesn't end with poor educational opportuniities. I'd like to see the City build more schools in higher-end neighborhoods instead of concentrating them all in lower income areas. What happened with the support that was supposed to come from the Cal Lottery? Our City's priorities are screwed up.
