This guy should have been given a medal for stopping such an atrocity, not a discharge! What message does this send to other soldiers?...stand by and do nothing? I applaud his integrity and his courage! We need more like him!

Let SFC Charles Martland to stay in the military. No rape or sexual abuse of any kind should be allowed on any military base here or abroad

SFC Charles Martland should be commended for his actions, not discharged. This country should stand behind what's right, not what's popular.

The man is a hero and what he stopped is nothing new. Watch the documentary on youtube called "This is What Winning Looks Like" to hear other soldiers speaking out about the same thing.

This country used to stand against evil. What have we now become?

He's a hero and should be decorated not villified.

I find what is being done to this decorated hero wrong. What is wrong with the leadership of this country to let this happen. Is Army policy defending PEDOPHELIA

Without reservation and pleasure I sign this in hopes of aiding SFC Martland. I am surprised he and CPT Quinn showed enough restraint not to kill the Afghan parasite.

This is just disgusting! I'm an Army veteran and served in the Iraq war, the way the army and the U.S is handling this, is just disgusting!

This is a complete outrage that this officer is being punished for doing what's right. The job of the military is to serve and protect, if we are in another country to help them, how can the abuse of these defenseless boys be ignored?

No one better to serve our country

This courageous man does not deserve losing his job over protecting the basic dignity and human rights of a young boy and his Mother. Shame on Military officials who made this decision. I urge a review and return of this man's full position.

To know that this is how we treat distinguished service members absolutely disgusts me. We don't need these "allies" as much as we are led to believe. As long as we are in combat, and make no mistake we still are, we need to worry more and take better care of our boots on the ground. We never would have made the progress we did in Afghanistan without men like SFC Marland and others in the SOF community. He stood up against a rapist and a pedophile. His actions should be rewarded. All that our senior leadership has managed to do is create an environment where soldiers won't stand up for what is right. Talk about toxic leadership.

Please restore SFC Martland to regular Army status and allow him to continue serving our nation as a Green Beret. He's an honorable soldier and should not be penalized for being moral and upright.

This shouldn't even have to be petitioned. evil should be confronted always especially at this level. If it were your child you want a brave man to do the same thing. We salute you!!

Sure, kick him out, all he did was do what the Pentagon has said after the fact was consistent with US policy totally ignoring the command directives in place since the very first deployment. Have we not as a community been used as scapegoats long enough?
