This needs considerable more press. What the hell are we fighting for anyhow if it's not morally right. Shame on the decision makers not in support of Martlands actions.

SFC Martland should not be reprimanded. He did what was right, standing up for a vulnerable child. If only we were all more like SFC Martland, the world would be a better place.

You are not forgotten by the american people. We need more people like you who will stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. I am very proud of you! You chose what God would want you to do, not what man would have you do. God bless you and your family. You are in my prayers.

Is that not why we are there in the first place?
Didn't realize defending children was cause for dismissal...
Another example of the present administration's moral bankruptcy..

Why on earth would he be punished for defending a child? Especially a child being abused by the local "authority"?

SFC Martland is an American hero! He should be commended for his actions. He represents all that was once great about this country........... before President Obama turned everything upside down.

When we the people allow law to overcome our common sense and make the good of all but particularly the weak subordinate, we weaken ourselves and strengthen tyranny and fear. Based on the evidence presented this soldier deserves a medal, not discharge or reprimand.

What a disgrace to our Country to have such an honorable man discharged. I hope our Congress and President will do the right thing... for once and reinstate him with the public apology he deserves. Bless you Charles Martland!!

Martland did the right thing. How could any man react any different. Raping a defenseless boy is barbaric by any social or religious standard.

SFC Martland should be retained in the Army. People in much more senior positions in both the military and government have been guilty of far more serious misconduct and allowed to keep their positions. Losing this Non-Commissioned Officer for the reasons indicated by the Army may potentially backfire on the Service. Causing a loss of trust and confidence with the American people.
