The Catholic Church was condemned for looking the other way, Ohio State was condemned for looking the other way, & now SFC Martland, who chose not to turn away, should be celebrated instead of discharged. What kind of example is this setting for our kids?

This an absolute disgrace! Marine Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland, is a hero in my eyes. He did what any good person would or should have done after a young boy had been repeatedly raped by an Afgan Police Commander and his mother beaten for reporting the abuse. Martland and his leader, confronted the man, who laughed about the abuse, so the 2 Marines got upset and physically confronted the monster! Another soldier, Sgt. Bowie Bergdahl should have been court marshaled for deserting his fellow soldiers, yet he was allowed to return to duty just 2 months after being released from his buddy Taliban's. Another disgrace!! Why was Bergdahl returned to duty, yet Martland, after serving for 4 years after the attack, is just now being kicked out! What a joke. Do not kick this fine Marine out, let this good soldier keep protecting us!!

This Man, did the right thing. We as a civilized nation need to recognize the fact that no matter what there culture is..... When you harm children and or women, it is crossing the line anyway you politically slice the pie so to speak. We as Americans NEED to protect and have our soldiers back. PERIOD !

This is one petition I feel I must sign. With all the dangers our Armed Forces face it is wrong that they should be asked to tolerate such heinous behavior. Rape is not a "cultural issue;" it is a Human Rights issue.

What happened to the days when America stood for what was right, no matter any foreign rules or policy that stood against us?

What is happening to SFC Martland is a grave injustice. As an American soldier we are sworn to defend those that are mistreated by the tyrants of the world. This never should have become an issue in the first place. Rahman is human scum and a known child rapist. I applaud the actions of SFC Martland and truly wish there were more Americans like him

delete Martland knew that as Americans we cannot tacitly support a young boy being chained to a bed and raped for 7-10 days repeatedly by an "ally." Nothing is worth that. Martland deserves a reprimand, but he also deserves a medal. He merits discipline, but anyone who tries to end his career is standing on the side of the child rapist, and not on America's side. Vigilantism is a serious charge. But Retired Master Sgt. Anthony Sansone, Martland's rater who marked him up for the incident, says that Martland was “one of the best soldiers I ever served with over my twenty plus years of service.” He said the spirit of the negative aspect of the report was to correct an “isolated albeit serious incident," and that had he "known that giving him a ‘No’ block for integrity on Army Values would seal his fate professionally, I would have written it differently and challenged some of the guidance received on how to word that document." US Army's bureaucratic leadership is obviously broken to support immoral behavior rather that defend the moral actions of SFC Martland
