This is outrageous!!!! He is a good man and a good and brave soldier and we can all appreciate what He did. He deserves a medal for his actions!! What if the man's victims had been members of your family!? Reinstate him! He did the right thing.

This administrative decision to discharge decorated SFC Marland is despicable and erroneous. This Ranger should be celebrated. The Army makes its military & civilian employees watch hours of training videos with topics that include SEXUAL ASSAULT, HUMAN TRAFFICKING & CHILD ABUSE. Why is the Army tiptoeing around this known perpetrator who should be tried & jailed? Stand by your policy, protect the vulnerable, and don't play politics - because it makes you, the Army leadership look weak and this country look powerless. This decision reflects poorly on Pres. Obama as well. Our Commander-in-Chief protects child rapists? It's considered HARAM.

A mighty man of Valor and honor should not be discarded so haphazardly. Pedophilia should be eradicated in ALL COUNTRIES. wish he'd had done more than push him.

It is tragic how the sad excuse of a commander in chief can violate so many of our constitutional laws, trade 5 Taliban/Alqueda heads for a deserter and get by without incident against him and a war hero stands up for a young Afghan boy and his mother in a country where neither the boy nor the woman have any rights to speak of, after the boy by accounts raped by the Afghan police chief and this Sergeant stood up against the Afghan he is being railroaded out of the military. I hope if he is found innocent he will continue his military service but I will not be surprised if he chooses to leave.

This is an outrage! Throwing away our decorated men and women in arms for shameful reasons should be treason! I don't care if ANY afgani was offended by the 1st sgt's actions, he did the right course of action for the right reason. Shame on congress, shame on all SO's for not standing up and doing what's right.

This man deserves his record expunged & given accreditation where it's due. Which is this incident: How the hell do the Army kick down a soldier of such promise?!?! Our Military trained a man as Chief of Police over there & he is who allowed his LEO to terrorize a woman & child??!! If we allow our G.B. Soldier w/morals & dignity get put down but not that idiot C.O.P. wThat doesn't say much for our high ups in office AT ALL.

SFC Martland needs to be awarded for his bravery in dealing with this horrendous situation. The sexual assault of a child, and physical harm of a woman greatly diminishes the standing of the Afghan forces in the eyes of the populace, and SFC Martland's actions prove that U.S. soldiers are still highly vested in the safety and security of those it was sent to train and mentor.
