The judgment against the soldier is unacceptable and the protocol under which he was judged is even worse.

This solider did the right thing and stood up to a child rapist. He shouldn't be punished for doing the right thing.

Why on earth would the U.S. Army railroad a hero warior such as SFC Charles Martland for doing the right thing and standing up for a young boy and his mother against an adult pedophile sodomist and woman beater??? Something is sorely wrong with SFC Martland's superiors if he, SFC Martland, is not retained in the Army, promoted to Master Sergeant, and this incident expunged from his record immediately!!! What has become of today's Army?

It is an honourable thing to defend a mother and child regardless of culture. The actions of Charles Maryland were certainly not cause for disciplinary action, and for sure not discharge. To me , it shows character of the highest to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. This government is supposed to be run by "we the people". This one citizen is saying the military is wrong in this case and needs to immediately reverse it's stance in Maryland state case.

This man deserves a commendation for his actions, not charges for standing up to a rapist. What has the US Army come to?

Our US military needs to honor the actions of this fine officer. He embodies every thing we need our military personnel to be. The life of two innocent victims of war were saved because of his heroic actions and courage.

I support this man's actions as a father and a veteran. I would have done the same thing but I would have killed that pervert where he stood.
