What deplorable actions by our America military commanders! What do we stand for these days? We used to stand proud, strong, and with strong moral fiber. How could you possibly discipline a soldier for standing against evil?

SFC Martland did the RIGHT THING! As an American citizen I would EXPECT an officer to protect the human rights of an innocent child.

This officer should be rewarded for his actions not punished. After all this IS how we expect our officers in uniform to act, or at least I would hope so!

I am so proud of this heroic soldier!!! I am a therapist who has provided counseling to survivors of child sexual abuse for 26 years. If these precious children had had a Charles Martland in their lives it would have altered the course of their lives. Sgt. Martland, I thank you for being in the Army of God and showing this child his life matters and that he was worth rescuing. Bless you. I apologize for the shameful way our country has betrayed you. God knows the truth. What you have done to protect one of His own matters to Him. I thank you for what you have sacrificed for this child and our country. Bless you and all who love and support you.

This soldier is a hero and the exact type of man we want representing this country. Those who would dismiss him from the military for obvious political reasons should be stripped of rank or dismissed from duty.

The Army and the country need more men of this caliber and integrity.

This soldier and man deserves so much more for serving his country than that has been handed down to him recently. There are very few men like this anymore. Please support him.

It's a shame the government is allowing the Afghan police force to sexually abuse its victims. Especially on base.

SFC Charles Martland is a HERO. He is a Brave, Moral, and Courageous soldier. Any government entity, person or organization that presses charges against him is unpatriotic and disgraceful.

SFC Martland is a hero, he has the integrity and backbone every Green Beret possesses. He did what was right, and what should have been done.

This is so wrong. What's happened to this country!?! We need more men and women like this man that will stand up for what's right. We should be thanking this man!

Thank God we have young men with this much integrity and moral courage!

I can not believe it is taking a petition to try and keep this young man's job. This is one of the most scariest things I have ever heard that someone may lose their career protecting a child and not even do what should have been done the animal that committed this crime.

I am a civilian of SFC Charles Martland's Home Country - The United States of America...Here we are UNITED in supporting our men and women of the U.S. Military. May our country not fall to Men who would commit atrocities upon humankind. It is in SFC Martland's conscientious action that I would want for my family...and the families of every country within the worldliness of the world.

I thought the entire reason our soldiers are still there are to protect the citizenry. This man exemplifies what the American mission should be in Afghanistan. If it is not the mission, bring our boys home and let that place rot. it's going to rot right after we leave anyway.
