Stand behind our soldiers or stand in front of them. It's as simple as that!

I support Sgt. Martlands actions against pedophilic scum in Afghanistan. I also believe the military leadership should be scrutinized and re-evaluated if this outstanding soldier is punished for this brave and moral act.

As a veteran myself, and former officer, if he were my soldier, I would do whatever humanly possible to stand in the gap for him & defend his actions. He is a soldier for more than government holidays off and money for student loans--he cares about defending the helpless. God bless him!

This man should be given a medal for what he did.

I am so ashamed of our military leaders. The Afghan cop should be facing charges in an American court, seeing as he was on an American base at the time. Where is President Absentee in all this?

This is the type of person I would like for President. Someone to help us.

I am so proud of this soldier, and so disappointed that the Army itself is so disgraceful. He should be honored, not dishonored. Shame on the military for following the directions of a commander in chief who has no respect for the military itself.

A disgrace what is happening to him

A man should not be force to shed his moral convictions when donning his uniform. The Nazzis did that and we all know how that turned out.

This man should NOT be kicked out of the military!!

May our military leaders remember the soldiers duty is to protect and defend. That's what Charles did! Promote him NOT discharge.

Sounds to me like this outstanding soldier is being railroaded for the top brass' political ambitions!

Absolute disgrace to do this to a decorated soldier. Leave it to a bunch of "big wigs" sitting behind the protection of a desk to come up with this punishment.

Do the right thing: keep Sgt. Martland in our military and promote him, as he has the moral fiber, internal compass, and guts to fully represent me, the US military and our interests. Anything else is a man abomination, and you know it.

It's deplorable that we should even be discussing this as there should be NO question to what action should be taken; SFC Charles Martland acted as we all hope we would have the courage to act. To punish his actions are disgusting and shed a horrible light on the Country and our Military system. We are only as good as the men and woman of our country. SFC Charles Martland's actions are commendable, not punishable. I request he be reinstated and given compensation for this disgrace that has been brought upon him by our government.

Bless you, brother. I stand not behind, but rather side by side, with you. Our most precious defenses are a firm but honorable defensive and offense teams. Is there anything more precious than that? YES! Children! It doesn't matter where they live, they are to be protected, and you uphold our honor well. God bless you and those who support you. May His will be done, but always keep in mind that you are never alone. God will never abandon you, nor will your brothers and sisters of our military arms.
