It's disgusting to think any person would ever commit a crime against a child let alone the child's local police official and that when confronted he laughs it off thinking that it's okay. What's equally disgusting is how the US military is handling the situation, we need more people in this world like these two soldiers. People who don't turn a blind eyed to the inhumanity that is happening not only in the US but all over the world. If the US military does not overturn this we are telling everybody around the world that crimes like this are okay. We would be failing to protect the very people who need our help the most.

If Martland is discharged for his rightful actions, I give up on the new batch of the current administrations military leadership and I will be ashamed of my country!

As a mother of a US Marine, I would expect him to react the same way. I would also expect his country to support him when he returned. DO NOT let him down.

SFC Martland, thank you for your service at the point of the spear. Easy for HRC "AG warriors" to sit in their air conditioned offices and decide your fate. Hey Army - save money by reducing flag ranks by 75% and all other officer grades by 50%. End the bloated officer corps and empower your enlisted soldiers.

What happened to American common sense, humanity and America protecting Americans for doing the right thing. If anyone should be punished it should be the gutless commanding officer who put him up for punishment. If anything, he should've been given a Humanitarian medal for saving the boy's life.

Kicking SSGT Charles Martland out of the U.S. Army for defending a young rape victim and is mother is wrong and morally inexcusable. The United States needs more men like SSGT Charles Martland.

SFC Charles Martland should be deserves an ARCOM for his actions, not a discharge. I would never fight for a country that allowed this to happen. Quite frankly, anyone who is behind this push to have Martland kicked out is the one who needs to go. This is beyond shameful.

All,
Another sad day for our men in uniform that are willing to give everything for their country and the sake of humanity, but get nothing back from those that make the decisions to send those men into harms way. Integrity, honor and good character seem to be lost in Washington and is so obvious to those like SFC Martland and other Special Operators across the board. Perhaps it's time to just take care of our own families, friends and those that believe in having strong moral principles, moral uprightness and the decency to stand up for our fellow man and let all others to themselves. I am not a real religious man, but hear this Martland, HooYah! for your actions overseas in doing the right thing. Chris Rodgers, MasterChief Petty Officer (SEAL) retired.
