Absolutely horrendous. Our men shouldn't have to deal with this period. Our military officials give these animals impunity and punish those who fight for the innocent. I though that is why we were there. This speaks volumes to the real purpose of putting our troops in danger.

As a Veteran Army Sgt. Honorably discharged, I feel after giving my all for our country and values, I have been let down beyond acceptable by the very Army I gave all for. Disgrace .

The thought of disciplining a man for help a child being raped is beyond understanding.

This situation is a perfect example of how far we have devolved as a country. Not long ago, when men were men, his actions would have been fully supported by his commanding officers, let alone the Commander in Chief. Alas, the current placeholder there is no man.

This is the kind of man we need MORE of, not less.

This is absolutely outrageous! This man did his duty as a man by protecting women and children as well as his duty as an American soldier. It saddens and angers me to see this.

If this were your child being raped, would you have the same reaction? This man is a hero & risked everything to do the "right thing". Do the right thing & allow him to finish his career.

What would these pussies do in his position? They were sent over there to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

I honor his service, and respect his decision and actions that followed. I believe that he should be permitted to finish his career and that his record be expunged.

The sergeant did the right thing. I salute him for standing up for a helpless mother and a helpless son.The world needs soldiers like SGT Martland. He is one of the reasons, why I have a great admiration for the US Army.
