I Fully support the petition AND actions of Mr. Charles Martland while stationed in Afghanistan. He truly deserves a medal and reinstatement to the Army. Our Army should feel disgraced for the actions they delivered to Mr. Martland. My taxes SHOULD be used to support these heroes, not restrict them or enable them to make a rightful decision under these foreign supporting, aiding circumstances.

I thought we fight to protect those who cannot protect themselves. The Sgt. was protecting a child from a sexual predator parading as a military officer. He deserves a commendation for his actions.

This makes no sense AT ALL! What is really behind this? Someone please explain how the military leadership can possibly justify this. I want to scream over the insanity of the incredible injustice to SFC Martland.

I was the Commander of a Forward Surgical Team in Afghanistan embedded with a NATO team from 2009-2010. I encountered and treated multiple forced rape victims (all boys with mutilated genitals) by an ANP Commander on his "Chai Tea Boy" recruits.
SFC Martland is not alone. My chain of command refused to act and the NATO battle space owners would have arrested me for "disciplining" the ANP Commander.
Leave SFC Martland alone, drop the charges and prosecute the guilty not Warriors who are there to protect.

Shame on the US military for dehumanizing a child through the actions they are taking against the ones who stood up for him. I am a veteran and would have done the same or worse to someone who had hurt an innocent presented with the same situation.
