Disgusting that this hero would be disciplined in any manner for protecting children. Something is very wrong with this administration.

Why punish a hero? Sgt Martland should receive a commendation for his decision to confront the rapist.

Heros should be celebrated and awarded not punished ... Stop the stupidity and reward good not evil which is exactly what this action is ... Evil! The people trying to punish this guy just imagine that child he saved as your child and then question this guy's action.

He deserve to be honored for his courage to stand against injustice, not the other way around.

People in the military are taught to think and respond as well as follow orders, respect their leaders etc. Sgt 1st Class should be commended for taking action. He did the honorable thing. Americans are protectors.

Charles Martland did the right thing. Please don't allow him to be punished for standing up for the innocent.

Allow this soldier to do what he has, protect and serve our nation as a highly qualified and elite soldier of the Green Berets! Thank you!

As a veteran I think this man should be awarded a commendation, an apology & a thank you from this country for what he did & be allowed to remain on active duty. He is a fine example for our military men & women. He looked pure evil in the rye & chose to do something about it. We need more people willing to act upon these atrocities.
