As a Veteran, I am appalled at our Military leaders, in this case the Army, that allowed this administrative action to go as far as it has. WE need million more people like SFC Martland in our military, our country, in our government!

This is ridiculous. In my eyes he did what he was supposed to protect the innocent

This is a monumental injustice to this Green Beret.

I've known Charles for over 20 years and in that time I have not met a more perfect individual to serve our country. He has been the most driven, passionate and dedicated person I've ever met for as long as I've known him. From basketball to math class. Football to the Army. Charles is what you people can only hope to be. The type of person kids emulate with their buddies. Save this hero, father of 2 with 2 on the way, husband, brother and son.

I wholeheartedly support SFC Martland for upholding the values this nation represents. I expect his commanders to do likewise.

We need to support our military members AND their judgement calls when they defend freedom, ours as well as others.

What SFC Martland did was not worthy of not involuntary discharge but was very worthy of our praise. Thank you sergeant!

Reinstate this soldier!! Our country is a Christian country. Founded on Christian values. Since when do we turn our backs on those fighting evil. Isn't that why we are there?

Real patriotism is not waving a flag or saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Real Patriotism is giving your life to your country and embodying the principals the country holds . Sexual child abuse exists in every country , According to a 2002 report from tThe World Heath Organization In 2002, the WHO estimated that 150 million girls and 73 million boys under 18 experienced some form of forced sexual intercourse or violence." (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/politics/un-report-uncovers-global-child-abuse-419700.html). Even in the US we have seen how the systems can fail to protect or even serve justice against the perpetrators of sexual violence. Charles Martland was confronted with a face of evil, an impervious member of a corrupt system that was in place because of the sacrifices of our military . When he lost control it was understandable. I would also say that it was the right thing to do. What happened to that child was all our responsibility and that man was the only one to be punished for it. And the only one to try to do something about it. If there were more people with his moral clarity there wouldn't be 223 million children who were sexually abused in the world.

The motto of the Green Berets is to Free the Oppressed. An Afghan policeman raping child over days needs protection. Is our military so weak anymore that we don't back our warriors. I served 24 years in the military, and i would have kicked the snot out of that cop too. Stop worrying about political correctness, and what people think. Support our warriors!

How dare this honorable man and hero of the Armed Forces be treated with less respect than the child rapists he stood against.

For the sake of decency, I will not be silent. This serviceman should be left alone. He did NOTHING worthy of dishonor.

My son, Specialist Christopher Outland from Upland, CA served 2x in Afghanistan from 2010 -2013 with the 82nd Airborne Division. He has been honorable discharged since. I support this petition to keep SFC Charles Martland in the Army!!!!! May God keep our soldiers safe!!!
