Please do not tarnish the moral honor and heritage of the U.S. Army by unrighteously separating Special Forces SFC Charles Martland. The Army needs leaders like SFC Martland in senior NCO leadership in the years ahead.

I'm signing this because I believe that the discharge of this soldier is wrong! When we ask soldiers like him to go to a war zone and fight, and possibly die, we send them as representatives of our nation as well. I am horrified to know that these kind of crimes are supposed to be tolerated by decent Americans. If this action against this soldier is "policy" it's time to revise the policy!

Sgt. Martland was doing his job, protecting people and persons who cannot protect or defend themselves from tyrants or sexual predators form ANY country. I think OUR higher command needs to be held accountable, if Sgt. Martland is "dismissed". Sgt. Martland was doing what he was there for, and doing what I would expect from him, as I would do the same thing. Sgt. Martland deserves and apology from the Army and be decorated for his integrity.

HE WAS DOING WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS RIGHT,as a twice wounded Viet Nam Veteran i think i would have gone a little further.

Political correctness requiring an American hero such as SFC Charles Martland to not stand up to conduct totally unacceptable to American values and morals is not consistent with the character we expect of our military heros. To expect them to stand by and allow the abuse of children is absurd. The general who wrote the letter of reprimand to be placed in SFC Martlands' file should be considered for his own letter of reprimand.

As a ex- Army, I know what the command is saying about not imposeing American beliefs on another country. However, what these two troopers did is what the Army and the Green Barets teach their toops from day one that is they need to finish their job with their head held high. In this case and cases like this, it really doesn't matter what the Afgan government thinks. When one of their people come to our troops for help, we CAN'T turn our backs on them. I call to those in command to do the right thing and don't turn your back on these outstanding soldiers.

When I was a solidier in the infantry you could use deadly force to stop rape, murder.though not caught in the act he admitted to the crime. He got the minimal of what he deserved.
Poor child and mother. I bet other afgans feel the same. Removing this sgt from the service would be a terrible injustice to him.Do the right thing army command. He s over there protecting the people especial the children
