If we won't support our soldiers who uphold the highest regard for what is right and just, and have fought for human rights around the globe, then get these men and women out of these inhuman nations. They are at fault - not our soldiers and this soldier should be praised not punished for his actions.

All policies should apply to every soldier. However, we cannot allow abuse of children anywhere in the world not matter what, and most especially on our bases.

Green Beret Charles Martland: YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. Thanks for exposing yet another form of grossly disfigured political correctness. Mr. Obama and the DOD: "Sometimes you gotta fight when you're a man".

Do not punish a man for doing the right thing defending the defenseless and stopping an atrocity that can not be tolerated

This man is a hero for standing up to the despicable acts he saw in Afghanistan. It doesn't matter if someone is a "US ally". If they're raping children, then they deserve to be prosecuted, imprisoned, or better yet, shot dead. I am disgusted by the US military and government's stance regarding child sexual abuse and violence. It is sickening to think that service men and women are being made to stand by as children are horrifically abused. Charles Martland should be thanked and praised for his actions. He did the right thing. Standing up against rape, especially the rape of children is the RIGHT THING TO DO. He most certainly should not be punished for it. Doing so suggests that the United States government supports violence against children. That damn well should NOT be the case.

Prayers are with SFC Charles Martland. I would have done likewise as would three of my grandsons who are in Service and too, those who serve and have served.

I am ashamed of the stance the Military has taken on this. I cannot believe this represents our country. I can't believe our volunteer, fine young men & women need to deal with this issue at all, much less on our very bases!

I am so proud of him... And so many others are, as well... Including my entire family.. And that's a big family... That Afghan soldier is lucky he just got an ass beating. I woulda put a bullet in between his eyes and been done with it. Way to go!!! You did the right thing!!

Please reconsider punishing SFC Charles Martland. I cannot support punishing an American soldier who tried to help underage victims of assault, despite the cultural differences of the region he was deployed.
