This guy should be a hero for beating up a child rapist. No child should ever do something against their will. Please, give this guy his job back and a medal for doing the right thing. He didn't just do it for that boy, but also for the others who are going through this every single day. It's time to put an end to pedophilia in Afganistan and anywhere else where they think "it's normal" to do this to young boys. It disgusting! Charles Martland Is a hero.

Our soldiers are put in place over there to not only protect our country, but the innocents in theirs. Our soldiers should be role-modeling the behavior that so many of our soldiers have already lost their lives defending. This soldier did what was right in the name of everything that is good & moral in any country. I would hope our soldiers weren't sent there with the expectation to "ignore" anything that doesn't fit the political agenda. It's about the original mission...which I think every American has perceived to be securing our country from terrorists, but also those innocent victims in Afghanistan. That is EXACTLY what he did!! I believe I would have to question the moral fiber of anyone that would suggest otherwise.

To get rid of a man for doing what the army he works for supposedly "stands for " is so backwards and stupid! He literally became the peace keeper for this little boy and his mother,and all others the monster he was mentoring would have hurt.
To discharge SGT.Maryland is to say that the armed forces is more inclined to side with child rapist,woman abusers AMD public terrorists than to back the man who fought for them,gave his life for them and sought to stop the injustices in other countries !
If its a better thing to just stand by and watch horrid acts like these unfold,then I hope no one I love joins the ranks ,because the leaders must be as sick and twisted as a pedophile.
