Why has it taken so long to even consider this? I wondered about this weeks ago.

As a junior student of Sewanee, I find it quite unnerving and disappointing that my own college has not revoked its honorary degree from Mr. Rose. Allowing him to keep it affirms a stance that Sewanee is willing to turn a blind eye to the sexual abuse and harassment many people face, especially since it still continues to occur on their campus and the perpetrator is given only a word of warning or at most, a slap on the wrist while students have been expelled for less like mistaken or petty plagiarism. This will not heal any wounds or bring justice to wronged students, but revoking this degree may bring peace of mind and perhaps signal a change for the better in where Sewanee stands on this matter, propelling proper action.

Take it away.
This is a stain on Sewanee's reputation.
